Hyderabad path has more cars & toilets

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has recently been withdrawn by the high court for Hyderabad’s lost path.
Moulika KV took a tour to the city this week and found that most of the city trails were broken or spread by vendors and riders, leaving a little room for pedestrians.
As a higher freeway and kite hunts have fun getting Hyderabad a world-class city, the more Hyderabadis seems to ask one question: But what about our path? Their beliber: Most of the city trails are broken, turning into a parking lot and dumping yards, interrupted by traders or just bulldozing to make a more profitable road.
In fact, some Hyderabad claims have the worst trail network – when compared to other big cities – and a little attention to pedestrian safety.
Like TOI touring through a recent city – talking to road users on the road – it was found that this claim was unfounded.
Exactly from Charminar to Banjara Hills and Koti to Ameerpet, the state of trails everywhere be delivered.
Near Potti University Sreeramulu Telugu in Nampally, for example, the bus stop has been built right on the path.
“The pedestrian walked past the bus stop risking their lives because they were forced to walk on the bus bay.
There is a rush in this area during rush hour.
The bus stop needs to be shifted to a different place before it’s too late,” said Ram Kumar, a resident of Nampally.
In Hastinapuram, the whole stretch of path on the main road has been excavated to planting trees.
Sharing street videos, local residents, Sandeep Reddy said, “GHMC destroys the path in the name of Pattana Pragathi.
This is just a waste of public money.” Toi found that the condition of the path in Kotak and Abids was the worst in the city.
Hawkers and shop owners have taken the trail in a densely populated pocket where people are seen walking right in the middle of the road due to lack of choice.
“How did pedestrians hope safe on the road like this? Even on the path that should have been designated for pedestrians, we were made to move for the convenience of shop owners,” said T Samyukta, a local resident.
In Himayatnagar, riders look free to use the path as a parking lot.
“No matter what time on that day, there are around 15 to 20 vehicles parked on the path.
The two-wheel must stop doing this and at the same time, the GHMC must at least install Bollard on the path to avoid this threat,” said M Dhanraj, a security guard is placed outside the clothing store in the area.
Pointing to the bus stop and public toilets installed on the footpath on Jalan number 3 in Banjara Hills, Dr.
P Anusha, a medical professional asking, “A few years ago, it was only a roadside vendor that would break the path but lately, lately, lately, We see the government department preparing public toilets, bus stations, transformers and even taking the plantation drive on the path.
Should they not leave the path to pedestrians and have separate places for other facilities? “While agreed to the problem of this path Sreenivasa Reddy, assistant Police Commissioner (traffic), Hyderabad said, “We clean up temporary encroachment regularly but regardless of it, if there is a permanent structure or a barrier that causes discomfort for pedestrians.
We coordinate with GHMC and make a special drive to delete it.” “Indeed True there are some permanent structures such as toilets and bus stops on Jalan Aspa K, but these problems must be handled by GHMC, “he added.
