Hyderabad: Regarding information that someone disguised as a police officer and tried to extort money from a doctor, police Banjara Hills arrested two people, including former doctor employees, in Banjara Hills on Wednesday.
Police Banjara Hills said that Rajeev Goutham Nair, an unemployed person, and B Mahesh, a car driver, was arrested.
On August 14, Rajeev called a doctor and introduced himself as a police inspector from Khammam.
The caller told the doctor that the former Mahesh driver was in police custody in connection with a violation and, as long as it was interrogated, claimed to have several call recordings between doctors and his wife.
That person, who happened to be an inspector, demanded 75 lakh from a doctor because he did not leak the conversation.
He also set a deadline of August 17 to make the first payment of 20 lakh.
The caller also threatened the reporter that he would be ordered in the wrong case if he complained to the police about request.
After seeing the TrueCaller application, the complainant found that one Nair Gowtham called him and then filed a complaint to the Banjara Hills police.
Police, during the investigation, found that the former employee of Doctor Mahesh was the brain behind the conspiracy.
Mahesh was in the past taking a 20 lakh loan from the doctor to buy land.
After taking money, he becomes inaccessible.
Then, he hatched a plan to extort money from his former employer.
For this, he associates in his friend Rajeev.
However, their plan failed when the doctor filed a complaint.
The police put a trap and arrested two near Jagannath Temple in Banjara Hills on Wednesday.
