Hyderabad: A woman from Hyderabad, who traded to Oman, has been saved, thanks to the external ministry intervention.
The woman thanked the minister of external affairs Subrahmananyam Jaisankar and social workers and MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan to respond to his request and ensure that he returned home.
The residents of Shaheen Nagar in the Ranga Reddy District, the woman was allegedly trapped by several local agents and traded to Oman where she was made to work as a housemaid in Sur, Oman.
He was stuck there since November 2021.
Amjed Ullah Khan said the woman was promised work in the muscat but traded to remote areas such as Sur in Oman where he was asked to work for 15 to 18 hours every day.
He fell ill.
Apart from his health, the employer refused to send him home and insisted that he paid Rs 2 lakh for his release.
With the intervention of the MEA and the Indian Embassy in the Muscat, the woman returned to India on Tuesday.
