New Delhi: Mumbai Police on Wednesday arrested, a man based in Hyderabad, at the threat of rape online to Indian Cricket Captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress, Putri Anushka Sharma after two Indian world crafts at the World Cup.
The man has been identified as Ramnagesh Srinivas Akubathini and was taken to Mumbai.
Kohli has been at the end of the recipient of a fierce online criticism after a bad Indian show and a strong comment called the targeting of his teammate Mohammed Shami.
Following the threat, the Delhi Commission for women has sent a notification to the city police, taking awareness of Suo Motu to the media reports of threats given to Kohli’s family.
It has been reported that the threat of online rape directed at girls nine months Kohli was issued since the defeat of the team in the Indian-Pakistani cricket match at the ongoing T20 World Cup, DCW said in the notice.
Kohli previously crashed into a “taxi troll” which attacked Shami’s religion after the team lost to Pakistan in his first T20 World Cup game and said targeting people because their faith was “the saddest thing” to do.
Given this, the Women’s Commission has asked Delhi police to submit a copy of the FIR registered in this matter and request the details of the accusers identified and arrested in this issue.
The Commission also searched for information about the details of the steps taken by Delhi police to arrest the defendant.
