Hyderabad: After successfully maintaining ODF ++ certification (free defecating), Hyderabad has now been declared ‘water plus’ City, making it the first urban local body in Telangana to reach the tag.
The unity of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Friday announced certification after examining the proposal delivered by the Great Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for Air Mission Swachh Bharat Plus City Certification under Swachh Survekshan 2021.
This certification was given to cities that reached safely.
And sustainable sanitation by ensuring that no waste water that is not treated out into a water body, ensuring the capacity of adequate waste treatment facilities other than using water treated and recycled.
The final field assessment report by the Ministry of the Union revealed that certification was achieved after the inspection team examined various indicators including the release of waste or septika (mud faecal), cleaning sewers and septic which was safe through mechanical equipment and the availability of PPE and availability in the event of a manual entry avoided, reuse the water processed, among other factors.
However, it is contrary to an assessment report that shows that City has passed all indicators that need to be examined to achieve ‘water plus’ certificates, experts show how the situation on the ground is different in some cases.
Meanwhile, while appreciating their efforts responsible for achieving achievements, administration of the city and the minister of city of KT Rama Rao tweeted, “Congratulations to the citizens # Hyderabad in the city we get the status of” water plus “which is coveted from the Mission of Swachh Bharat” the Indian government.
Hyderabad has been recognized as ODF ++ City.
