Hyderabad: Muchukunda River, known as the Musi River, was once a freshwater river, which was once a matter of pride had become a shame for Hyderabad residents.
With the development of the most needed Musi River and beauty projects, the body of the water continues to die slow because it is currently standing as a waste, solid and chemical cocktail.
After issuing RS 2 Crore expenditure in the Musi Rejuvenation Project, Corporation Development Front Development Limited (MRDCL) responded on August 28, 2021, after heavy rains washing their efforts.
Officials said that they were preparing detailed project reports and created plans to remember all possibilities.
This is one of a number of failures of citizenship relating to the problem of pollution of the Musi River.
At present, almost nothing is done to stop contaminated waste and waste disposal seeps into the river.
Even Rad Rub Rs 5.64 Crore failed to filter waste within three months after the installation, returned in 2009 after it became choking with waste and solid waste.
Floating waste barriers arranged to block solid waste from entering downstream too much because of waste disposal and seepage waste taking place in the flow.
For example, even the fence established on the Muslim Jung Pool bridge has not prevented the public to throw garbage on it.
Apart from the solid waste seen in the river flow in Puranapul, the Jung Muslim pool, Jung Salar Pool Bridge, waste can also be seen depending on the fence because some of them tend to be trapped on it for months.
MRDCL develops tracks running and cycling and conducting a landscape working on the surrounding land.
“Today, almost no one goes there to walk because of who wake up early to walk next to the smell waste.
This cosmetic changes there is no meaning.
The river requires a complete post-Mortem,” said a civil activist to TOI .
