Panaji: I D Shukla was appointed as the Director General of the New Goa Police (DGP) on Wednesday.
DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena has been transferred to Delhi, after serving in Goa for only 16 months.
Shukla an officer from the 1995 batch in the agmut cadre is a native of Allahabad, above.
He previously served in Goa for years and has been promoted as North SP Goa.
Shukla currently serves as police special commissioner in Delhi.
Also on Wednesday, Goa South SP Pankaj Kumar Singh was transferred to Delhi as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Youth Affairs on the Ministry of Home Affairs recommendations.
Singh posted as SP Goa southern in July 2020.
Before that he held SP (crime) at the Goa Police.
