New Delhi: Police Delhi issued a traffic advisor on Wednesday to ensure a safe and smooth vehicle movement in all national capitals ahead of the function of independence day and a full dress ceremony on August 13.
According to the Red Fortress Advisor – from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will overcome the nation on Independence Day – will remain closed for general traffic from 4am to 10 in the morning, and will be open to only the authorized vehicle.
Traffic restrictions for full dress training on August 13 and for the function of independence day will remain the same, police said.
Eight Roads, Marg Subhash Netaji, Lothian Road, SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Nishad Raj Marg, Esplanade Road and Link Road to Netaji Subhash Marg, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT, will be closed for the general public from 4am to 10 Morning on days, according to advisor.
Vehicles without a two-day parking label have been recommended to avoid Indian C-Hexagon gates, Copernicus Marg, Bath House, Sikandra Road, Marg Marg, Mathura Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Subhash Marg, and Ring Road between the Nizamuddin Bridge and the ISBT Bridge, And the outer ring road from IP Flyover bypass to ISBT through Salimpgarh.
For northern-South purposes, commuters need to take an alternative route from: Aurobindo Marg-Safdarjung Road, Connaught Place-Minto Road, and Nizamuddin Bridge to cross the GT Yamuna-Pushta road.
For the east-west corridor, commuters have been advised to follow alternative routes from DND-NH24-Vikas Marg, Vikas Marg-Ddu Marg, and Boulevard Road-Bar’s Khana.
The Colony Geeta bridge will be closed towards Shantivan, and the vehicle will be prohibited from taking the bottom ring road from the Kashmere ISBT gate to Shantivan, and from the IP flyover to Rajghat, the advisor said.
The vehicle items will not be permitted between the Nizamuddin Bridge and the Wazirabad bridge from 12 Midnight 12 to 11 August on August 13.
Similar limits will apply to independence day from 12 midnight 14 to 11 August on August 15.
According to police traffic, the inter-state bus will not be permitted between Maharana Pratap Isbt and Sarai Kale Khan Isbt from 12 midnight until 11am on August 13, Ditto for August 15.
The city bus, including those operated by DTC, will not ply in the ring road from 12 midnight until 11am on August 13, between ISBT and NH-24 / NH T-Point on the Ring Road, and need to take an alternative route available on Independence day, the adviser said.
The bus route ended in the red fortress, Jama Mosque, and the Delhi main train station will be limited or diverted, he said, adding that normal bus services will be restored after 10 am.
Alternative routes will remain open to the train station, bus terminals and hospitals near the independence day function venue, police said.
