Chennai: In an effort to avoid unwanted incidents report, city police have made a broad arrangement for the celebration of independence day on Sunday.
A total of 12,000 police personnel will be deployed for security purposes.
The control room to monitor CCTV will be arranged and the police have identified ten sensitive places in the city and posting extra security.
The city police commissioner issued a release on traffic arrangements made for the celebration of independence day in St George Fort.
The following modifications in traffic movements will take effect from 6 am.
The stretch of Kamarajar Salai from the Labor Statue to the North RBI Subway in Rajaji Salai and the Flag Staff Road will be closed for all vehicle traffic than vehicles by car.
Vehicles that came to Kamarajar Salai and proceeded to Parry’s Corner through Rajaji Salai could take the route through Swami Sivananda Salai, Anna Salai, Muthusamy Bridge, R.A.
Mandram and NFS Road to reach the corner of Parry.
Plying vehicles on Rajaji Silai and proceeded to Kamarajar Salai through Rajaji Salai can take the route through NFS Road, King Annamalai Mandram, Muthusamy Road, Muthusamy Bridge, Anna Salai, and Walajah Road to reach Kamarajar Salai.
The vehicle coming from Muthusamy Bridge / Anna Salai and proceeded to Parrys Corner / Kamarajarsalai via Flagstaff Road can take the route through Muthusamy Bridge, Muthusamy Road, R.A.
Mandram and NFS Road to reach Parrys Corner and Anna Salai and Waljah Road to reach Kamarajar Silai each.
