I don’t know about leadership changes: Babar Azam

Karachi: Pakistani captain Babar Azam has removed talks about future changes in team leadership and said the focus is to win the ODI series and T20 against New Zealand.
Babar said at a virtual media conference on Thursday that he truly supported the chosen team.
Asked about alleged dissatisfaction with the chosen team, Babar said that he had given his input as captain as usual and insisted that this was not an individual team.
“I think the council official and chief of the selection have also clarified the position in team elections so for me I truly support the side and expect it well against New Zealand.” Babar also explained that he was not told or heard something about the change in captain.
He shows that it is a normal thing in the cricket world that a captain must fulfill the desired goals and meet expectations.
Chairman of the PCB, Ramiz Raja, at his first press conference explained that his hopes for Babar as the captain was the same as what he had with Imran Khan.
Ramiz said because he did not know Babar well at the individual level, it was too early to do his judgment about all the forms of the captain.
Babar said when asked about the captain changing rumors: “I don’t know about it so far.” Captain Pakistan said that his team expected a difficult fight from the New Zealand team in the white ball series even though they lost several of their main players like Captain, Kane Williamson, Tim Sielt, Conway Devon, Southe’s team, Southe team, Kyle Jamieson and Lockie Ferguson.
“We don’t take them lightly even though this is the condition of our home.
They as a nation have done very well at ODIS and T20 Cricket in recent years and also finalists from the last World Cup and the final of their world testing championships so clearly their talent depth Good.
“He said if New Zealand had their main players, this series would be more pleasant.
Babar said two series of houses against New Zealand and England were important because of conditions in Pakistan and UAE where the T20 World Cup will be held very similar.
He said the upcoming series was the final phase of preparation for Pakistan before they went to the World Cup.
Babar said these two series would allow Pakistan to give a final touch to the middle order in the white ball format.
“Our world T20 matches are in the UAE, and we form a team that keeps the aspect too.
The more we use our spiners, it will be good for us,” he said.
