Bureaucrats-Turn-Bhubaneswar MP and BJP National Spokesperson Aparajita Sarangi spoke to Ashok Pradhan on a variety of issues including national politics for the problems in the state capital.
Excerpt: As the MP, the difference in what you think you’ve made? I have done my job as a member of parliament with all honesty, giving a 100% effort.
Not a day has passed that I have not worked 12-15 hours.
In the Lok Sabha, I have raised the issue of people such as drainage, the problems of women, poverty status Odisha, the need for the development of rapid industrialization and heritage.
Whenever I’m in Bhubaneswar, I spent six hours a day in cells complaint in my office.
I got a response from people from all over the state.
I am encouraged by the community office with eyes and ears to the problems of 24×7.
I spent a lot of time with party workers not only in my own constituency, but the whole of Odisha.
Complaints like what people do? Varies.
Of the right kind of receiver is not selected for complaints of corruption on the ground, the infrastructure gap, bad roads, lighting and drainage problems.
Some come with family problems as well.
We get a lot of people approached us with medical problems such as not getting a bed in the hospital or unable to arrange funds for treatment.
The extent to which you think you have fulfilled the promise of your poll? I am very satisfied with the progress.
Development is our main agenda as Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps saying.
Roads and waterways become a major problem in Bhubaneswar, we focus on improving this.
Bhubaneswar Drains are killing people …
There is a need that is long overdue for a sewer of Nayapalli to 120 battalions.
Over the years, the state can not obtain objection certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Defense of the Union.
We pursue this with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
The state has received permission.
Works great disposal were being carried out near Pahala area.
But the state government is currently preparing a comprehensive development plan for Bhubaneswar drainage.
Countries can make some provisions of the budget and ask for more funds from the center.
Without it, the problem will not end.
What I did not like about the state government is an ad hoc approach, seen everywhere.
What do you mean by an ad hoc approach? For drainage, the government did not show the kind of seriousness that should be.
In the past six years, we have lost seven lives after people fall into draines in Bhubaneswar.
It can not be forgiven.
I have written to the CM about it.
I have appealed the drainage of a comprehensive development plan.
That has not been done.
Why BJP failed to stop the victory Naveen Patnaik? I would assume poll BJD won deftly managed image CM and give heaps before the poll.
It ‘Chhata-Million Sarkar’ (government distributes umbrellas and shoes).
This is a leader who can not be accessed minister.
He only owned by one person.
A leader must be accessible to all.
What should be the strategy of the counter? BJP is very strong.
We need a government with the vision of Prime Minister Modi.
We need a government that is run by a lecture and not only offers the polls.
Why BJP seeking Dibya Shankar Mishra’s resignation but did not remove Ajay Mishra in the center? Ajay Mishra’s son was behind bars.
No one is suggesting Ajay role in what happens in Lakhimpur Kheri above.
In the case of the murder of Master Kalahandi, Dibya Shankar role under the scanner.
There is evidence against Dibya Shankar himself.
It’s not a question of his son.
The situation is different.
The results of the latest bypoll BJP is not good …
We have done very well in Assam and Madhya Pradesh.
