I have not retired from politics: Ex-Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan

Indore: Former Speaker Lok Sabha and Veterans BJP Sumitra Mahajan, who are honored to the Padma Bhushan Award for its long service in public life, on Wednesday saying he does not retire from politics and will always remain a BJP worker.
Mahajan was given a warm welcome at Devi Ahilybai Holkar Airport here where he landed after receiving awards in Delhi.
BJP MP from Indore, Shankar Lalwani, Madhya Pradesh Air Resources Minister of Tulsiram Pengatawat and the others were present on that occasion.
“Whatever the task of the BJP office carrier will ask me to do the interests of the party, I will do the job.
I will continue to work in the social sector too,” Mahajan said told reporters.
Mahajan (78), known as “Tai”, said in a lighter vein, “I have not received retirement from politics,” sending laughter between the audience.
Given the final final Prime Minister Bihari Vajpayee, Mahajan said a political worker would remain so even if he did not occupy the post.
He said, “Even today, I am a political worker and will remain forever.” Former Speaker Lok Sabha said he had done politics in a normal way but it was oriented to the results because he was considered for a big award like Padma Bhushan.
Mahajan has won Lok Sabha’s poll from Indore from 1989 to 2014 for eight times.
He has decided not to oppose the 2019 election that seems because of the informal rules in BJP which did not allow leaders who had crossed 75 years for the contest.
