I learned to stay calm under pressure from Tendulkar: Bhagat

New Delhi: The Gold Medal of Paralympics Pramod Bhagat has linked his calm attitude in court under pressure on the inspiration he took from sportsmanship and graceful behavior exhibited by the iconic Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in his career.
Bhagat, the ruling world champion, won the first Indian Paralympics gold with a direct victory above Daniel Bethell United Kingdom in the SL3 class final in Tokyo last week.
India is 33 years old, who has contracted Polio when he was 4 years old, showed great mental disability when he recovered from the eight-point deficit in the second match to make Trump against his opponent.
“I used to play cricket during childhood.
During that time we used to watch Cricket in Doordarshan and I was always fascinated by the calm attitude Sachin Tendulkar, the way he did himself and had a big influence on me,” said Bhagat to the interview .
“I began to follow him.
His sportsmanship affected me.
So when I started playing, I followed the same thought process and it helped me make an unforgettable comeback in many matches, including the world championship.” When I dropped 4-12 in the second game of the final, I am sure that I can recover and so I can hold my nerves, keep calm and comeback and win.
“Bhagat had met Tendulkar after returning to the country from Tokyo, which he used in the final of Tendulkar, who gave him a signed tee-shirt and his autobiography book.” I was always inspired by Sachin, since childhood, so it was a big moment for me when I was meet him.
He told me about the balance of life and sports.
It is a dream that is a real moment.
“Bhagat, who came from Attabira in the district of Bargarh Odisha, said he did not see the future in sports when he began but now he felt overwhelmed with the response produced by his gold medal.” When I started badminton in 2005, I used to feel there was no future but I won in the 2009 World Championship title and so that BWF recognized the bulminton, everything changed slowly, “he said.
But not much recognition for badminton and not much.
How do I know that a gold in Paralympics might make me confession and I have to say that I am overwhelmed with all the attention.
“The Peelers of Indians claimed as many as four medals, including two gold, silver and bronze, from Tokyo Paralympics where badminton made his year debut this.
Bhagat, who has more than 45 international medals under his belt, including the gold medal of the World Championship and Gold and Bronze in 2018 Asian games, said time has dominated the world.
It’s just the beginning for us.
The time of the struggle is over now and it’s time to step and achieve more, “he said.” In Tokyo, we have proven that we are the best and next years, you can expect a much higher level performance and I feel the next time.
The Asian Games of the year and 2024 Olympics, we will do better.
“Bhagat should play a world championship next month in Tokyo but it has been postponed because of Covid-19 and he said the next goal is still winning a medal in a possible tournament.
It happened in December or March.
Bhagat also acknowledged the contribution of the coach of Childhood Shiba Prasad Das.
“He really found me, trained me and made me out of it.
He is my first teacher (coach).
I used to play outdoors, he introduced me to badminton in the room and was under his guidance that I won the title of the 2009 World Championship.
“He helped me financially, mentally and physically supported me.
I used to practice underneath before the big event.
So I have a lot of gratitude for him.
