I might be killed if I set foot in Afghanistan: MSU alumnus

This German-based organization works to empower women in Afghanistan and educate them,” Khalid 32 years told toi.
“Taliban opposed to educate women because they felt It made them independent and then they left their families.
My colleague who worked on women’s education in various Afghan provinces had been threatened from the Talibanis, “he added.
After the Talibanis came knocked the door a few days ago, the Khalid family included his wife, two children, brothers and parents left the house and had shifted to where his sister was outside of Kabul Town.
Khalid took registered for a master’s degree program at the Faculty Journalism and Communication in MSU in 2016 after getting a scholarship from the Indian government.
“The two years I spent in Vadodara are the best days of my life.
I learned a lot about Indian culture and how people here embrace others easily.
I always miss the days I spent here,” Khalid remember.
He wants to settle in India with his family.
“I will try to get a visa for them so that we can all live here safely.
Most Afghans will choose India over Pakistan or Iran because this is the best country to live,” he said.
“Many Afghans escape from their country because they do not want to live in a country without work, the economy is destroyed, lack of technology and constant power cuts.
This is what happens the last time the Talibanis ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001.
Women were forced to stop learning, Wear Burkha and be at home, “Khalid said.
“The Taliban now only builds his image while outside of Kabul they kill merciless people,” he added.
