Chennai: Announcement of urban local body selection by the State Election Commission has set a ball rolling in the political arena in Tamil Nadu.
If not all political parties, at least the powerful DMK and PMK, who recently distanced themselves from the alliance led by the AIADMK opposition party, have begun to prepare for elections.
The Chairman of the Minister and President of DMK M K Stalin while speaking at the wedding ceremony of the Princess Dmk Rajya Sabha MP T K S Elangovan in Chennai on Thursday said people had to speak less and focused on action.

Stalin said the country had ordered 50% of seats in the local body for women.
He said women who enjoy the same rights and opportunities in the local agency poll must have the same interest in personal matters too.

A senior Secretary of the DMK said after a two-hour online meeting, Stalin patiently listened to the views of all representatives.
Senior Durimurugan DMK leader and minister, who was known for his intelligence and humor, said that if the meeting was held in the party office, it would conclude in one hour.
But the virtual meeting lasts for two hours, he said.

Stalin insisted that party representatives should not get a bad name.
