New Delhi: The Department of Income Tax (IT) has launched a new Annual Information Statement (AIS) on the Compliance Portal, which provides a comprehensive information on taxpayers, with facilities to capture online feedback and include additional information related to interest, dividends, Securities transactions, mutual fund transactions, information on foreign money transfers and such transactions.
The tax department says the display of the 26AS form on the trace portal will also continue in parallel until the new AIS is validated and fully operational and adds that the information reported has been processed to delete duplicate information.
Experts said AIS was a passenger tax password that provided information about pre-paid taxes and the specified financial transactions was carried out during the previous year and expanded the scope of new information.
