New Delhi: For the alleged tax evasion, the income tax department on Thursday held a raid on the Dainac Media Group of Bhaskar in several cities, according to official sources.
Searches are being made in Bhopal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and several other locations in the country.
While there is no official word from the department or policy body, Direct Council of Direct Tax (CBDT), the official source said the action also involved the promoters of the main Hindi media groups with operations in various countries.
Congress leader and former Madhya Minister Pradesh, Digvijaya Singh said on Twitter that tax officials were “present” in half a dozen group premises, including in his office in the Bumi Bhopal press complex.
