LONDON: Clubbers London on Monday flocked to one of the first-free live music programs because the pandemic began last year, dancing all night and rejoicing in human interaction when Britain lifted most of the covid restrictions at midnight.
England, who has one of the highest deaths in the world from Covid, faces a wave of new cases, but Prime Minister Boris Johnson raised most of the restrictions in England in what had been dubbed by several people “Freedom Day”.
Epidemiologists are generally skeptical that removal restrictions are the right thing to do, but many young English people have more than 1 1/2 locking year, and say they crave a party.
“I haven’t been allowed to dance like what looks like forever,” said Georgia Pike, 31, in an oval room at Hackney, East London.
“I want to dance, I want to hear Live music, I want the vibration to be at the show, be around other people.” However, in addition to the spirit of having fun, there is also a clear concern about the wave of new cases – more than 50,000 per day throughout the UK.
“I am very excited – but it mixes with a sense of disaster to come,” said Gary Carmill, 26, outside the event “00:01” which was held to celebrate the return of live music.

James Cox, 32-year-old crows singer, post-punk band played in the Oval room, said the last time he appeared live in Halloween 2020.
“Before this, I had a little fear that I would not like it because it was so long,” said Cox.
“As soon as I stood on the stage and started a soundchecking, I was like: Oh yeah I like this, I like this, I’m like, this is my passion.”
