I was on the side of Assam, we could not shoot first: Mizoram SP Vanlafaka Ralte

When the first shot was fired on Monday, Vanlalfaka Ralte said he was on the other side of the border in Assam.
“I negotiated with Assam IG,” Ralte, SP Kolastic, one of the three Mizoram Regency which limits Assam, told TI on Wednesday.
He handled a discussion of the regional dispute from the side of Mizoram.
“I told him that we had to finish something peacefully.
Suddenly, a shot away from the side of Assam.
Because I was on the side of Assam, it couldn’t be my people to be fired first.
But when they burned, they answered.
That’s what happened .
“Six police Assam died in a shootout and around 80 others were injured on the border between Vairengte in Mizoram and Lilapur on that day.
The area has witnessed Sporadic clashes, the last October of last October.
At the end of June this year, Mizoram said Assam explored his area in Vairengte and established a police checkpoint there.
On Monday, that’s where the conflict begins.
“From the other hand, more than 200 Assam police personnel came to our police camp at Vairengte.
We only have 20 men there.
Police Assam beat them, pushing them out and occupying our camp,” Ralte said.
Ralte did not say whether it was Mizoram’s police shot which killed Assam police.
