The Australian Test Captain Tim Paine believes he will be ready for the start of the ash series against England in December after surgery to repair the prominent disc on his neck.
The 36-year-old child suffered severe illness on his left side caused by pinched nerves and, on the suggestion of the surgeon, underwent procedures on Tuesday.
Paine said he hoped to return to full training at the end of October after a six-week recovery period.
“The precedent has been set, people have returned from it quite quickly,” he told Sen Radio.
“We have talked to all the players, their physios, their surgeons to track their rehabilitation plans and make me back as soon as possible.” I am quite confident outside the six weeks I will be ready to go into it.

If I move freely, I’ll give a good fist.” The first test against England in Gabba in Brisbane is scheduled to start on December 8 and will be followed by four more matches in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
“I’m quite happy with that decision,” Paine said.
“After the surgeon looked there, he said it was a good decision to finish it.” The Wicketkeeper-Batsman, who took over as captain after Steve Smith’s dismissal after the Newlands 2018 ball-tubmarch scandal, said he had an operation in an effort to extend his career outside the play day.
“I want to continue playing for Tasmania after my international career,” he said.
“To fix it and get out of the way is the right decision.”
