New Delhi: Star Indian Sprinter Hima Das on Tuesday vowed to make a strong comeback on big events next year after missing the Tokyo Olympics due to injury.
One of the most interesting talents in Indian athletics, Hima had suffered a hamstring injury while running 100m hot during the national athletic championship between the national countries last month.
The 21-year-old was forced to leave the final 100m and 4x100m relay due to injury.
He ran in the 200m final but finished fifth to miss the Tokyo Olympics.
“I will miss my first Olympics because of injury before it’s time when I almost reached the qualification standard in my new event 100m and 200 m,” Hima said in a post distributed on her Twitter handle.
“I want to thank my coaches, support my staff and teammates for their sustainable support.
But I will make a strong comeback and look forward to the Commonwealth Games 2022, Asian Games 2022 and the World Championship 2022.” Hima exploded at the scene after winning 400 M of gold in the world junior championship in Finland in 2018.
In addition to winning silver 400m, it is also part of the 4x400m gold winner relay and a mixture of mixed 4x400m relay teams in Asian Games 2018.
