Ludhiana: The only flying officer from the Indian Air Force who received the VIR VIR Chakra was given awards in accordance with the events that marked 50 years of India-Pak War 1971, because the warning was launched in the Original Issewal Village, nearby, on Tuesday.
Perwiraflying Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon Anumertiously was awarded the VI VIR Chakra, the highest Gallantry award in India, in recognition of his defense about the airbase of Srinagar against the Pakistani Air Force attack during the war.

Amardeep Singh, a 38-year-old martyr’s nephew who lives in Rajguru Nagar, Ludhiana, said he and his mother Jagnandan Kaur attended the function and IAF respect him with his congregation.
He said the air show held in the village was spectacular.
He said his father and uncle were married on the same day in 1970 and after one year Nirmaljit Singh won the martyr.
He did not have children and his wife remarried again.
Given the ICAF function, the authorities have filled the hole on the road.
Kulwant Singh, a village resident, said the hole was filled with sand and bricks destroyed on Monday.
He added that they were proud that Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon belonged to their village.
Amandeep Singh, a student at the school where his function was held, said they grew up to hear the courage of martyrs.
