ICC expressed sadness in Ray Illingworth’s death

Dubai: International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday declared sadness in the death of former England captain Ray Illingworth at the age of 89.
He had undergone radiotherapy for esophageal cancer.
Yorkshire, British Regency Illingworth played, announced his death on Saturday.
Born in Pudsey, Yorkshire, All-Rounder Off-Spinning, started a first-class career in 1951 at the age of 19 years.
He represents England from 1958 to 1973, playing 61 tests, scoring and picking up 122 Wickets.
He became the captain of England with a 2-0 victory which was famous in 1970-71.
He had an extraordinary first-class career, piled up 24.134 running and took 2072 of the goal.
He also led Yorkshire to the three consecutive district championships from 1966 to 1968.
The Chief executive ICC Allardice said: “Ray Illingworth is a giant British cricket and is one of the best England captains.
He is unfair.
As a British captain, but also as a coach And the chairman of the selector.
Our minds with their family and friends at this difficult time.
“After retiring, Illingworth turned to broadcast and was part of the BBC television coverage.
He also served as England coach in 1995-96 and was the chairman of the selection between 1994 and 1996.
