Dubai: ICC on Friday announced that excessive slow in T20 Internationals will result in less than the 30 yard circle for the remaining insurance, starting this month.
The government agency also introduced an optional drink interval amidst inning in the bilateral T20 Cricket as part of the updated game condition.
Penalties in matches in addition to sanctions for slower levels described in Article 2.22 of the ICC code of ethics for player support personnel and players.
“The Over Rate regulation was arrested in the 13.8 clause from the condition of the play, which stipulates that the field side must be in a position for the first ball bowl of the final from innings by the time scheduled or rescheduled to the end of the innings,” ICC stated.
“If they are not in such a position, one fewer fielder will be allowed outside the 30 yard circle for the remaining inning.” The change was recommended by the Cricket ICC committee, which routinely discussed ways to increase the pace of the game in all formats, after considering reports on the effectiveness of similar regulations entered in playing conditions for the ECB.
In other changes, solving optional drinks two minutes and thirty seconds can be taken at the midpoint of each round which depends on the agreement between the members of each series.
The first men’s match played under new play conditions will be a one-time bond between West Indies and Ireland in Sabina Park in Jamaica on January 16.
The first T20i of the three-match series between South Africa and West Indies in Centurion on January 18 will be the first women’s match played under new play conditions.
