ICC is waiting for Afghan promises for women’s cricket

Dubai: The International Cricket Council said Afghanistan has communicated his intention to keep women’s games in the country but the world’s body is still waiting for more actions.
Afghan’s participation in the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup was under threat after the report emerged from the new Taliban regime that did not allow women to play cricket.
The team led by Mohammad Prophet was impressed in the Super 12 stage before losing the competition for the semi-final after losing them to New Zealand.
Geoff Alardice, chief executive ICC, said they would return cricket from a war-hit area to develop on the global stage.
“Our goal is to see men and women play cricket in Afghanistan.
We have supported them and the team has appeared on this event.
You have seen their players in a number of events now,” Allardice told reporters in Dubai in Dubai.
“In the case of how our council will consider the situation in Afghanistan at the meeting next week, they will get a report on how it is traveling.” Alrardice said, “They have told us that women’s cricket continues.
They certainly haven’t given us an indication that it has stopped.” Time will tell, in terms of what is played.
Yes, we have communicated regularly with them since things changed in their country.
“Meanwhile, according to reports, cricket in the United States can be given a large ICC event in the next cycle that began 2024.
Allardice said the ICC is still committed to expanding the game globally and holding events in countries where the sport rides a local team involved,” Alrardice said.
“This is a great opportunity to develop the game.” The dream of cricket to make it to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles has been pushed earlier this year when the control board ruled out Cricket India’s reluctance to join encouragement.
“Over the past decade, we have had various member countries that express interest being part of the Olympics,” said Alrardice.
“This time we have all our members on board A nd in a round voice in the desire to be part of the game.
I don’t pretend it will be easy to campaign and become successful with the organizing committee Los Angeles and outside Brisbane too.” There are many other interesting sports that will be interested.
We look forward to placing our best foot forward.
