Pune: The Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) only approved three independent test kits for Covid-19 so far and will evaluate more proposals in the coming months, said a senior Apex scientist.
“Until now, we cling to three self test kits.
If we get the appropriate proposal, we will approve it,” Senior Epidemiologist Dr.
Samiran Panda, who heads the ICMR epidemiology and infectious disease division.
ICMR has so far approved three Self-Test Test Kit – Coviself of Pune Back Mylab, Pancio Covid-19 Test from USBADAD ABBOTT and Gujaratbased Meril Diagnostics’s Covifind – While the other three have been validated, but have not been approved.
Maharashtra Health Officer said 1.18 Mandiri Lakh test kits have been used in circumstances between June and September 8.
Hasmukh Rawal, MD MyLab, said the response was good.
Pathology Laboratory ,, said this kit can only be used by people who understand technology because the nasal swab collection is needed and upload results through the application.
Speaking of kits, Rohit Jain, Secretary practiced the pathology community, said, “If the results are wrong positive or miscellaneous, who will take Medico’s legal obligations?”
