ICMR Designs Kit for omicron detection

New Delhi: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has designed a diagnostic kit to detect Omicron variants from Coronavirus and have invited interest expressions (EOI) from in vitro diagnostic kits manufacturers (IVD) to transfer technology for development and commercialization.
ICMR-Regional Medical Research Center, NE, Dibrugarh, has developed new technology – Real-time RT-PCR test to detect Omicron variants (B.1.1.529) from SARS-COV2 and kits for the same thing.
“ICMR is the owner of the technology, including the underlying intellectual property and commercialization rights for other interested manufacturers,” said the EOI document invitation.
“ICMR invited EOI by email from an experienced IVD kit manufacturer to transfer technology for the development and commercialization of Omicron SARS-COV-2 (B.1.1.529) Real Time RT-PCR test through a new diagnostic kit,” said Eoi said.
