ICSE, CBSE can send bank questions to the Maharashtra board for the STD 11: HC entrance examination

Mumbai: Bombay High Court on Wednesday said the ICSE educational board, CBSE and IGCSE can apply for a question bank to the Maharashtra State Council so that it can set a paper for a joint entry test (CET) to enter STD 11.
Because there is no external examination held for STD 10 this year because of the Coronavirus pandemic, a CET will be held on August 21 for students from all councils to enter the first year of Junior College.
The judge’s division bench D Dhanuka and Riyaz Chagla heard the petition by ICSE students Patki, challenging government resolution May 28 which said CET would only be based on the SSC syllabus (secondary school certificate).
Advocacy General Ashutosh Kumbhakoni, emerged for the state government, opposed the petition and said if CET was canceled, it would affect the rights of students.
“More than ten lakh students have been registered for CET,” he said.

The state government has asked other councils to submit signs of questions each of 200 samples, to set and put in CET, he said.
CET will have seven groups of questions 25 marks.
Questions in four groups will be based on the SSC Syllabus Board for Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences and English, while the three groups will consist of questions from other boards, he said.
Students can try questions from four of these seven groups, General Advocates explained.
While CBSE hasn’t objected to CET, ICSE is not a party for the petition before HC, he said.
By stating that there was no round noise between various boards, Kumbhakoni said that if there was further delay, the reception process would only end in October.
The bench said another board can send bank questions to the state government if they want.
Will take a request for the final hearing on August 6, he added.
