ICT capable space helps Govt school students bridge Digital Divide

MySuru: Digital division between students in urban and rural areas has emerged as the biggest challenge facing the schools managed by the government in the time of the pandemic.
The majority of students in government schools continue to struggle to gain access to computers and cellphones to participate in their lessons.
Taking knowing the situation, an academic from the Netherlands has established information and communication technology (ICT) -Anles spaces in seven government schools to provide children in digital learning tools.
The meaning of the Gupta initially launched two ICT centers in Muttatti and Hyknur at T Narasipura Taluk two years ago as a pilot project.
This initiative was then expanded to five schools again, including a higher elementary school government, Varakodu.
The ICT center has five computers, connected to the Internet.
Pratham Mysore Jagadish project said that the meaning had understood the idea of ​​learning space.
“One and a half years ago, the meaning of visiting five government schools, and decided to establish a ICT center at Vararnadu School after considering many parameters including facilities and interests among school teachers,” Jagadish said.
Pratham Mysore is an implementation and monitoring partner under the ‘Learning Space’ initiative.
“Curiosity, collaboration and creativity are ideas behind the initiative.
Facilitators help students lead their lessons using a digital module,” Jagadish added.
In addition to helping rural students participating in online classes, ‘Spaces Learning’ provides books, and strives to improve creativity and critical thinking among students by giving them puzzles and other similar activities.
A Gupta Meaning that effusive said that the environment that the Principal of Varakodu Narasimha Murthy had created for children to leave her fascinated.
“The learning room is about providing the right environment so that children develop, and the eternal relationship with Narasimha Murthy looks natural,” he said.
Murthy said that the school in Varakodu had the strength of 150 students in class from I to VII, taught by seven teachers.
“Our goal is to get used to students with digital learning.
Nearly 50 students from private schools join institutions because of the various initiatives conducted here,” he said.
