Idukki: Tusker stepped on a woman to death

Idukki: A 45-year-old woman trampled on to death by wild elephants in Thalakkulam near Poopara in Idukki on Wednesday.
The police said the woman, Vimala from Korpara, was attacked at around 2:15 at around 14:15 while working on the Plantation of Kardamom.
Because of thick fog and rain, workers don’t see elephants in the plantation.
While the others worked with him managed to escape, Vimala was attacked by Jumbo and died in place.
Vimala’s body shifted to the Adimali Government Hospital for autopsy.
Vimala survives by Chiramjeevi’s husband and children of Elangover and Gopi.
The agricultural land along the border of the MatrikeShola National Park and wild elephant attacks have been rampant in the area for the past week, the native said.
Since 2010, more than 39 people have lost their lives in wild elephant attacks in the Munnar wildlife division.
