Ghaziabad: Leader of Bharatiya Kisan (BKU) Rakesh Titails on Sunday threatened to establish Mandis and tents at the Administration Office and police station if there was an attempt to remove their camp from the Delhi-Meerut toll road, where farmers had protested the past 11 months.
The statement came a day after the Ghaziabad government said they would make efforts to convince farmers who protested the Ghazipur border to lift their tents from the highway so that it could be opened for traffic.
The hope of the opening of Ghaziabad-Delhi CarrieGeway in the near future was updated on Friday when Delhi police began to release the barricade.
On Sunday, Tikait made it quite clear that the farmers who protested were not everywhere.
“We have known that the administration tries to disturb our tent and wants to remove it using Earthmovers.
If they draw a tent here, we will arrange it in the administrative office and police station throughout the country,” he said.
Previously on that day, Tikait had posted similar warnings on Twitter.
“If there are efforts made to forcefully remove farmers from the border, the government office throughout the country will be converted to Galla Mandis,” he tweeted.
BKU’s leader, who has pioneered the protest at the gate since November last year, also accused farmers not get fertilizer and seeds in time.
“If this continues, the country’s production will be affected.
The central government will be responsible for this.
The country will be in the clutch of large companies and food grains must be imported.
People will be burdened with high inflation,” he said.
Tikait also gave the middle time until November 26 to attract three agricultural laws.
On Sundays, protests at the gate rise usually.
BKU members stopped commuting to Delhi in Dme, forcing them to do a long detour through the road.
Magistrate Ghaziabad District RK Singh has been determined on Saturday that vehicle traffic will not be continued on DME “until each tent is removed”.
