‘If necessary, give money from the CM help fund to MOC’

Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Thursday asked the district collectors to come into regularly with organizations run by charity missionaries, a philanthropic organization based in Kolkata established by the mother of Teresa.
Naveen also directed the district region to ensure that there were no prisoners of these organizations suffering, especially from food, security, and health-related difficulties due to lack of funds.
“Everywhere it is needed, funds from the Minister of Public Chief Assistance (CMRF) can be used for this purpose,” CM said.
State government steps assume significance after charity missionaries recently requested the center not to operate one of the accounts of foreign contributions as an action to ensure that there is no hose.
This step follows the rejection of the Interior Ministry to approve the renewal of the Foreign Contributions (FCRA) renewal of charity missionaries, by saying that it does not meet the feasibility criteria.
Kolkata-based organizations that have arrived in Odisha in 1974 run 13 centers for painful patients, scratched, elderly, leprosy, mental disabilities and orphans.
Nearly 1,000 marginalized and underprivileged prisoners, including children, are part of these organizations.
There are four to five other small centers in the state, officials said.
“We immediately intervened and provide rations and daily necessities for the next 15 days.
We will continue to offer all the help they need until their account is restored,” Khurda District Collector said Mohapatra Sangram.
Senior representatives of charity missionaries in Odisha value cm movements.
