If taxis do Not Set Yards, licences will be cancelledGoa to Top court

PANAJI: The state authorities on Monday tendered an”unconditional apology” to the top court of Bombay at Goa because of its delay in installing electronic fare meters in theaters, and stated taxi operators who don’t collaborate in getting yards would”face the result of automatic cancellation of this license”.
Manager of transportation Rajan Satardekar reported the nation had been”serious” regarding the setup, and declared affidavit that the execution will be completed in six weeks.
“I state no choice or discretion is rendered using some of those stakeholders, and also the practice of installation of these yards is with regard to a compulsory principle, which must be followed closely by all with no exception,” Satardekar, who’s also ex-officio further secretary (transportation ) to government, stated.
His apology wasn’t sticking to this court’s orders dated July 5, 2019 and January 20, 2020.
At the next contempt petition filed with the tourism and travel institution of Goa (TTAG) within the last couple of years within the non-implementation of this court orders, Satardekar confessed there were”several protests and also obstructions/objections by several men” from the past to block and hamper the setup.
Satardekar stated the division”will seek the support of the law enforcement machines to ensure stringent action is taken against some men / stakeholders which makes such efforts to block the execution” of this rule along with also the orders of the courtroom.
The court was advised that though there was a delay in commencing the setup, it resulted from this”intervention of Covid-19, that has been followed with additional logistical and practical issues”.
Regardless of the problems which were faced, the section took up the issue with the builder and guaranteed that the procedure originated from May 20, ” he explained.
The division issued a public notice on May 18 notifying all stakeholders which fitment of electronic fare yards with automatic monitoring device and crisis systems is mandatory for taxis concerning rule 140 of the Goa Motor Vehicles Rules, 1991, together with principle 125-H of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, and the department will begin installing from May 20.
In 2018the large court imposed costs of Rs 10,000 over the section for”clearly delay”, also requested the nation to recoup the costs in the officer.
