Abu Dhabi: Batsman (KKR) Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Shubman Gill felt that his party could still be eligible for the Playoff so the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season resume.
Even though the TRC had not run well in the first phase of the IPL 2021, after winning only two of the 7 matches, Gill said that he still hoped from the qualification side for the playoffs.
“I think it’s a very important break.
Sometimes things like that happen that you don’t expect.
I think we are very in a dispute to finish above 4.
Which team qualifies, you never know what will happen.
So , hopefully we will win the remaining matches, make sure we qualify and then we will see where we go from there, “Gill told the official website of the KKR.
“If we continue to do what we have done in the past few years and just enjoy our game, then it is not possible we will not do it well or fulfill the requirements,” he added.
The 2020 IPL edition saw the moving KKR very close to the qualification for the knockout stage.
After finishing the fifth because the net rates were not so healthy last year, the KKR wants to have a change of luck this time in the UAE.
IPL 2021 will continue with Mumbai Indian locking horns with CSK on September 19.
The last game of the league stage will be played between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on October 8 on October 8.
