The Indian computer emergency response team (Cert-in) under the IT ministry has issued a high-severity warning for Microsoft Edge browser users.
Warning is for users who use the browser version before 97.0.1072.55.
As per warning, some vulnerabilities have been reported in an edge browser that can allow long-distance striker to get the escalation of privileges and carry out the Arbitrary code on the targeted system.
The next advisor revealed that “this vulnerability is in advantage because of data sanitation provided by users and improper security limits.
Remote attackers can exploit this vulnerability by persuading victims to visit websites made specifically and run arbitrary script codes in the browser Users in the context of arbitrary websites.
“The exploitation of this vulnerability that has been successful can allow long-distance striker to get the escalation of privileges and implement an arbitrary code on the targeted system.
To avoid exploitation, users of Edge Cert-in Wants browser to update to version 97.0.1072.55.
The version was launched by Giant Tech last week and combined the latest security updates from the chromium project.
If you are an EDGE user, you can also get a new ‘game’ panel in the browser.
According to a report by Neowin, known Tipster Leopeva64 has seen a new panel.
Further reports stated that this feature is currently only available for several users and disabled by default.
This feature needs to be turned off by entering settings> Appearance> Game keys.
According to the report, after activating the feature, the user will be able to see the game button on Omnibar.
Clicking the new button will open the panel on the right side of the browser window.
Panels include various categories of HTML5 games such as arcade, boards & cards, puzzles, sports, casual, and more.
