New Delhi: Actor, filmmaker and TMC leader Bratya Basu leveled allegations of political maneuvers in the union government after the film Bengali, ‘Dictionary’, was not included in screening at the 52nd International Film Festival (IFFI) in Goa, which was associated with “spelling errors “.
Referring to the decision as “politically driven”, said Basu in Kolkata that he had received a written confirmation of the festival organizers about the film selection in November 5.
However, he claimed IFFI “surprisingly eliminating the film from the list” later.
