New Delhi: The Customs Department at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi arrested a man because he tried to smuggle Gemstones, a Customs official said on Monday.
“One Indian national passenger arrived at T-3 airport, IGI on October 21 from Moscow by T-3 air flights,” the official said.
During the luggage scan through an x-ray machine, some unpleasant images payed in the check-in trolley bag.
After a detailed examination, various types of gems colored stone and beads, really weighing 21,626 grams (on average) worth Rs 43,93,040 recovering from the trotting bag, added the official.
A variety of stressed colored gems and beads have been confiscated under the Customs Act.
The passenger has been occupied by arrest.
Investigation is underway.
