Nagpur: The hour after the Indian Election Commission (ECI) stated the biennial election for the six master of the Maharashtra legislative council, the possibility of contestants from Congress and BJP began to approach each senior leader in Delhi and Mumbai, besides Nagpur, to get tickets.
In accordance with the bearers of the senior office from BJP, the party can replace sitting MLC Girish Vyas with BJP Secretary General Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
On the other hand, the congress has decided to fight this year’s poll, unlike in December 2015 where it has attracted its candidate in the “mutual understanding agreement” of the BJP rival.
In return, BJP has attracted his candidate Manoj box against Congress’ Ashok aka Bhai Jagtap from Mumbai.
Bawankule, the former energy minister denied receiving such intimacy from the BJP Central Leadership, which was referred to as speculation.
“Today, only the election schedule was announced.
It is too early to say who will receive a ticket from the party.
As far as I know, I will follow anything that the party decides,” he told Toi.
Even the Head of the City of BJP Pravin Datke supports the Bawankule stand clarifying that seniors in Delhi and Mumbai will complete the name of the candidate.
“We, however, are convinced of our current victory because of our superiority in the number of voters.
BJP has 65 more voters than Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena together,” he said.
Confirming that the Congress will fight MLC polls, City President Vikas Thakre and Chief Spokesman Atul Londhe said, the party will jointly take the power of BJP under the umbrella of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), who has governed the state under the chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray.
“Our high command in Delhi will complete the name of the candidate even though there are many in the field.
But we will oppose the polls with our full strength as we did when former Minister Rajendra Mulak was elected from the district before Vyas,” he told TII.
ECI will hold a poll for six MLC seats on December 10 at 8am to 4pm.
In a statement released on Tuesday, ECI said the election notice would be issued on November 16 while the deadline to fill out the form will be November 23.
This election is held after every six years for local constituencies.
But this time, ECI has not announced the schedule for polls for Solapur and Ahmednagar, even as the MLC term as well as expiration on January 1 next year.
