Ignou to offer a general course at the 95 skill development center in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) will provide high education for participants in the training center for skills development in the state.
Usually trainees do not have the opportunity to register their names for higher education while taking vocational education and training.
But now the university will solve this problem and offer them graduation courses at 95 skills development centers in Odisha.
Ignou has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Development of Skills and Entrepreneurship on Tuesday to link vocational education and training for higher education under IT below, Pradhan Mansa Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) and Jan Shikshan Sananan (JSS).

But this MoU aims to conceptualize, plan and implement a framework that is imagined for candidates from the skills training institutions to give them the path to register and complete their graduation degrees.
According to the plan, the university will provide facilities at 45 itis, 24 JSS and 26 PMKK in Odisha.
Ignou and the ministry will jointly develop and operationalize the implementation plan for this initiative.
The ministry will facilitate the opening of the Ignoo Registration Center, the inspection center and work centers for existing students registered under the open university given the mandate given by national education policy (NEP) 2020.
The university will develop standards for quality assurance and train staff from the centers identified to handle registration and counseling.
This will be an institutional mentor for the successful implementation of the project and issue an identity card to registered students.
Ignou will identify inspection centers, providing independent learning materials in digital form, conducting continuous and comprehensive evaluations and conducting final futures tests.
It will also publish certificates to successful students, official sources said.
