Lucknow: For the first time since the launch of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2016, the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) was dropped from the Top 5 League Institutes of Indian management.
In NIRF-2021 released by the Union Minister of Education on Thursday, IIM-L failed to maintain its fourth position and ranked 7th this year.
For the past five years, IIM-L managed to maintain position No.
4 among B-School in the country.
The overall score of IIM-L fell from 73.8 in 2020 to 71 this year, increasing the gap with other competitors.
Two newly newer IIMs – Iím-Kozhikode and IIM-indore – raise the graph to Notch Up Rank 4 and 6, beyond IIM-L.
While IIM-Kozhikode reached a total score of 73.3, up from 69.9 in 2020, the Iim-Indore score was enhanced by 2 points, from 69 to 2020 to 71 this year.
IIM-Ahmedabad, IIM-Bangalore and IIim-Calcutta defended the top three slots with an overall score of 83.7, 83.4, and 80.
Parameters for ranking include teaching, learning & resources (TLR 30%), professional research and practice ( Rp.
30%), graduation results (go 20%), outreach and inclusiveness (PR 10%).
Iím-L under the leadership n Chandrasekan, Chair of the Sons Tata, poorly researched in research and professional practices by printing only 41 of 100.
The highest score of 94.8 has come in the graduation parameters.
“The rating talks about the deterioration of the standard at IIML, one of the oldest management institutes throughout the country.
The Institute did not have a 10-year vision document after being formed in 2011 ended this year,” said a former member of the Board of Governors.
The IIM-L faculty with anonymous requirements, “With a lack of initiative, academic accuracy has been diluted.
It took 40 years to build a stature of Iim-L, but now it seems to sink.” Chairperson, Corporate Communication and Media Relations, IIM-L, Prof.
Nandita Roy said , “This institution is currently looking at NIRF 2021 data.
We will comment after we analyze all parameters.”
