IIT-D, Jamia, NMML among 6000 whose FCRA licenses expire

New Delhi: Registration of 5,968 NGOs and Associations in Foreign Contributions (Regulations), 2010, are considered to have stopped or expired on Saturday, because the application of the FCRA license update of 179 NGOs is Reje-minister and the remaining 5,789 does not apply during the window 30 September 2020 to 31 December 2021.
It has made an affected NGO not be eligible to receive foreign funds or utilize foreign acceptance of foreign sources.
Among the associations whose FCRA registration is considered to have expired on January 1, 2022 is IIT Delhi, Jamia Milia Islamia, Indian Medical Association, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, India Habitat Center, Indira Gandhi National Center, India Cultural Center Islam, Indian Public Administrative Institute, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, National Foundation for Communal Harmony, Delhi College of Engineering, Gere Foundation India Trust was founded by actor Hollywood Richard Richard and Oxfam India.
But institutions such as IIT D, NMML, Jamia, Igna, IIPA and DCE may not apply to FCRA license updates because the government in the beginning of 2020 ordered the release of all organizations governed by or under the Central or State Law or by the government’s or executive sequence , fully owned by each government and is required to have an account audited by CAG, from the FCRA operation.
While Oxfam India has reported around RS 50 Crore foreign receipts in 2020-21, other organizations such as Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and India Islam Cultural Center show zero foreign revenues in the same year.
By nodding FCRA for almost 5,968 NGOs that have been considered to have stopped or expired, the number of active NGOs who qualified to receive preliminary funds on January 1, 2022, have dropped to 16,829 from around 22,800 on December 31, 2021.
As on January 1, a cumulative number NGOs whose licenses are considered to stop or expiration have reached 12,580.
Sumber Mha said that of a total of 18,778 NGOs whose FCRA registration was expired between September 29, 2020 and December 31, 2021, 12,989 applied to updates and 5,789 did not apply.
179 NGOs whose applications for extension of FCRA are rejected because they do not meet the requirements of the measures and rules that are changed, including charity missionaries, related to the late Nobel-late speech.
FCRA nodded around 20,675 NGOs had been canceled as dates.
In accordance with the FCRA regulations and foreign contributions that are changed, 2011, all NGOs and associations need to submit their license updates, valid for five years, before the expiration.
