Iit-Delhi gradually moves towards the diversification of the subject.
In addition to core techniques, the Institute plans to focus on teaching non-technical subjects.
The aim is to expand the horizon and make the Institute offer quality education in various domains.
Speaking with time of education, Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi said, “We have followed what the National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP) imagines by adopting a multidisciplinary approach to education.
In the past five years, we have started six new academic units.
Some of them They have been made as fresh new units and some have been redesigned from older units.

“Tata Trust has given us Hospital Grants 50 Crore, which is used to recruit quality academics.

We have nearly 100 PhD students at the interdisciplinary school now.
All students who join the Interdisciplinary Research School will Having two supervisors of two different academic units.
This process will also facilitate interactions throughout the department.
We also have a design department and we are in the process of starting a scholar in the design course from the next academic session.
We do all this to become a comprehensive institution and only limited to technical courses.

In recent years, IIT-Delhi has started five undergraduate degree programs, five BTECH programs, eight MTech programs, two MSC programs, one master in public policy, six master’s programs in science and research.
These programs have just begun, further added Rao.
