To encourage young girls to pursue a career in science and related, IIT Delhi recently launched a free stem guidance program for girls who study in class XI in their economic schools regardless of their economic status.
Candidates have been chosen by selected schools based on the tendency of students to parent discipline.
According to IIT Delhi, candidates must score more than 85% marks in class IX and X in science subjects.
“The Mentorship program is an initiative to overcome gender imbalances and improve women’s representation in the stem, if it is not considered a field-dominated field,” said Pritha Chandra, Dean, Iit Delhi, and initiative.

“Providing the right guidance to girls through a three-level program about how the study was conducted in the lab, what kind of discussion that occurred among scientists and undergraduate research at an early age could provide a boost for a career in the field of science and technology,” Chandra added.

IIT Delhi has chosen ten female students from Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Delhi because they are targeting government schools in the initial phase.

In this initiative, participants will be guided by the IIT Delhi faculty along with their research scholars.

The three-level program was divided into a two-week winter project, from the end of December to the beginning of January.
Online lecture series, consisting of modules in chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics and several branches of engineering by the IIT Delhi faculty.
The lecture series will be carried out between February and April 2022.
During this period, students will also interact constantly with their mentors on their specific projects.
There will be a summer three-week project, where students will get experiences in the laboratory, and complete their project reports with their mentors.
