NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi can set a Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Centre (TRIP-C) that will provide academic programmes and attempt to create standards for secure transportation and urban mobility solutions in India and areas with comparable socioeconomic problems.
According to officers, the facility may also train professionals that are armed with all the skills for creating and keeping safe transportation infrastructure.

The programme has been set up by Dinesh Mohan, a world-renowned specialist on traffic security and human tolerance for harm, who perished because of Covid-19-related complications a month.
The facility would be coaching the human ability and make specialists in sustainable and safe transportation.
It intends to bring the very best faculty, students, and employees.
“The coming middle has a special template about the best way best to conduct an interdisciplinary programme efficiently and might aim to attain greater heights through heart research topics that could endeavour to create standards for secure transportation and urban mobility choices,” explained K Ramachandra Rao, Coordinator, TRIPP.
“Apart continuing with the present PhD programme, the new facility would provide a Master of Science (MS) Research programme, that could teach the pupils / professionals within the area of the transport security and prepare the pupils for the study professions,” he further added.
Rao explained the Master’s programme will provide a unique mix for professionals in diverse backgrounds (Engineering/ Planning/ / Medical/ Science/ Humanities) to become trained using the wisdom of creating sustainable and safe mobility resulting in the improvement of overall individual life .
