Guwahati: India Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) Researchers have developed cost-effective PEROVSKIT solar cells (PSC) which are very efficient to produce electricity from sunlight which can have more than 21% of power conversion efficiency – about 5% more than solar conventional panel.
The latest technology in Perovskite-based semiconductor devices that have emerged, developed by the team, is considered the most promising because the price is low, the ease of manufacturing as a roll-to-roll device, high material availability and easy decoration.
Devices Solar or photovoltaic based perovskite hybrids are easily manufactured and easily recycled developed by achieving significant power conversion efficiency by utilizing photovoltaic-based photovoltaic device processing techniques even at the temperature of light space and getting high ambient, thermal and optical stability that can be easily achieved in the neighborhood like the Northeast.
This center has recently provided a push to semiconductor manufacturing in this country, which can be a big boost for this new type of solar cell.
The research team in IIT Guwahati consisting of Rabindranath Garai, Ritesh Kant Gupta, Arvin Sain Tanwar and Maimur Hossain worked under supervision of Prof.
Parameswar K.
Iyer has achieved phenomenal results in terms of the efficiency and stability of the PSCS.
