Varanasi: Director of IIT Gandhinagar Prof.
Sudhir K Jain has been appointed as Deputy Chancellor of the New Hindu University of Banaras by President of RAM Nath Kovind, who is a university visitor.
The Bhu Registrar Office on Sunday issued a press release that confirmed the appointment of Prof.
Jain as a Chancellor by the President in the capacity of the visitors to the BHU for a period of three years or until he reached the age of 70, which was earlier.
Bhu spokesman Rajesh Singh said Prof.
Jain would carry costs as representatives of the 28th Chancellor of the University.
After the end of Prof.
Rakesh Bhatnagar on March 28 this year, Prof.
VK Shukla was keeping affairs as a representative of Chancellor, he said.
Date where Prof.
Jain will assume the charges of his office will be announced soon, he added.
Prof.
Jain completed it from Rookee University in 1979, and then MS and PhD from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, in 1980 and 1983, respectively.
A civil engineering professor, he also worked with IIT Kanpur in a different capacity between 1995 and 2008, before assuming the allegations of Directors in Iit Gandhinagar in 2009.
He consumed and developed the National Information Center from IIT Kanpur with the aim of disseminating information and the Literature and Capacity Development against earthquake disaster.
Prof.
Jain was also conceived, developed and operated the National Program on Earthquake Engineering Education with the Human Resource Repair Department with the aim of developing earthquake techniques in engineering, architecture and polytechnic in this country.
Prof.
Jain is Laos who is known to conceptualize and develop an internet-based platform for exchange of ideas and debate problems related to structural techniques.
