Hyderabad: India Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) recorded the highest placement this year with 466 work deals made for 427 students during the recent phase-1.
This is a surge in more than 100% of 222 offers last year.
In 2019, the number reached 292.
Phase-1 placement in IIT-H was held between December 1 and December 7 December was held online with students who attended work interviews from their homes throughout the country.
More than 650 students and 210 companies have registered for placement in all this year’s department.
The highest package in Phase-1 is Rs 65 Lakh while the average salary offered is Rs 23 Lakh.
This time, 34 students were also offered international posts – Japan and Taiwan – by seven companies.
Officials at the Institute said that more international offers are expected to pour during phase-2, the possibility will begin in January 2022.
But the main recruiters are companies and startups based in India.
A total of 10 startups offer jobs up to 36 candidates this year.
Flipkart, indeed, infurnia, JP Morgan, Meesho, Microsoft NTT in, Newzera, Silicon Labs, Suzuki Motor Corp., TSMC and Zomato are one of the leading recruiters in IIT-H in phase 1.
“Various initiatives were taken in the last two years like that As a semester-long internship for BTECH, MTech Interdisciplinary, Industrial Lectures, the MTech Project determined by the industry and so on has begun to produce results and we will continue to improvise on it, “said Professor BS Murty, Director, IIT-H.
The number of students who chose the semester internships had more than doubled to 33 at 2021-22 compared to 12 at 2020-21.
“We changed the Placement Office at IIT-H to offer career services two years ago with the only goal of taking care of the overall development of student career including counseling to decide the appropriate career.
The targeted objectives are conducive to achieving, proven from this year’s placement,” said Professor C Krishna Mohan, Dean, Public Relations.
