Times News Network Kanpur: Crubn, a company incubated by IIT-Kanpur who provides advanced solutions for government and business entities around the world, has collaborated with the Smart Governance Center, the Premier Software Development Agency of the Karnataka Government, to develop a Blockchain network which is permitted as a layer of trust and decentralized efficiency for all Egovernment (E-GP) procurement systems throughout the country.
The E-GP system meets the procurement requirements and tenders of various government departments and organizations.
This partnership aims to relieve the complexity of the existing system by making more than 50 operational e-GP systems throughout the country that can be operated, which, until now, works in silos.
Director of IIT-K Prof.
Abhay Karandikar said, “I am happy for the Crubn team, who has advanced to help develop the main blockchain network throughout the country to enrich existing e-governance systems.
This will help IIT-Kanpur in realizing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat in Advanced technology and make India super technology.
“This Blockchain network will be used to validate claims suppliers along with their identity.
The proposed system will connect all E-GP systems through the network and help take and validate relevant supplier data between various e-GP systems used in India.
This system will also digitize bank guarantees by giving them an increase in confidence-based automation from blockchain.
When fully operating, this system will become a PAN-India system that will reduce the time and costs associated with public procurement made using the E-GP system.
Crubn was incubated in IIT-K for Phase-III National Blockchain Project, funded by the National Security Council Secretariat and imagined to build e-governance solutions using Blockchain technology.
The C3I IIT Kanpur Center, funded by Serbia (Science and Engineering Research Council) is the first cyber research and education center in the field of critical infrastructure cybersecurity.
Furthermore, the Hub C3I (Technology Innovation Hub funded by the DST National Mission in the Cyber physical system) which was established in IIT Kanpur helped in empowering research, education, beginner ecosystems, and industrial collaboration in the field of cyber security.
