IIT-K ‘Sanjeevani’ will be made by a Bengaluru company

Kanpur: IIT-Kanpur has developed a sophisticated oxygen concentrator equipped with adsorption swing pressure technology (PSA) to achieve a commercial scale and benefit the public.
This technology has now been transferred and licensed to a Bengaluru-based company, Albot Technologies Private Limited.
Anticipating the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and to maintain adequate oxygen supply, the inventor developed this sophisticated oxygen concentrator and named it as ‘Sanjeevani’, with the aim of ensuring sufficient supply and preventing the oxygen crisis in the future.
The oxygen concentrator functions at the flow rate of 10 LPM with oxygen purity around 92%, the concentrator has a capacity that can be adjusted 1 to 10 LPM, which can be used for medical and personal use.
The concentrator was developed by a team involving Professor J.
Ramkumar from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, PhD Siddhanth Srivastava, Jitendra Kumar, Dr.
Amandeep Singh Oberoi, Rupendra Aryal and Nitin Chaukhat.
During the ceremony, Director of Iit-Kanpur Professor Abhay Karandikar directed collection of several ongoing projects at the Institute.
He also appreciated it about the progress of the school research and medical technology that was ongoing in Iit-Kanpur who would accommodate a 400-patient’s bed hospital on campus and emphasized that R & D school activities would promote research that leads to innovative development and cost effective medical devices .
Professor is responsible for innovation in Iit-Kanpur Professor Amitabha Bandyopadhyay said that the Institute Incubator actively worked with several stakeholders to accelerate the economic device development ecosystem in the country, including Yamuna’s remote development authorities and several international partners.
The MOU exchange ceremony, which took place almost, began with a brief welcome and introduction from Professor Abhay Karandikar, Director of Iit Kanpur and Akash Singh, CEO of Albot Technologies.
The ceremony also joined Prof.
Amitabha Bandyopadhyay, Prof.
Ar Harish and Ravi Pandey from Iit-Kanpur.
