Lucknow: Eight higher educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh thought among the 100 top state academic institutions of the state in the ‘Overall Category’ list of the National Institutional Framework (NIRF) released by the Union Minister of Education on Thursday.
The Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IIT-K) and the University of Banaras Hindu (BHU) brought Caurels to the country by ranked 5 and 10 each in the overall category.
Last year, IIT-K was ranked 6th.
“This is a great matter of pride and happiness that BHU again secured a third place in NIRF rank in the University category.
I congratulate everyone at the university,” said Deputy Chancellor Prof.
VK Shukla.
“The University takes many steps to improve teaching, research and innovation learning,” he added.
The Muslim University of Aligarh (AMU) increased its ranking significantly, jumped from 31 years ago to rank 18 this time.
The scores were enhanced by five points – from 52.5 in 2020 to 57.4 in 2021.
India-Bhu Institute of Technology slipped two to the 28th, while the Medical University of King George took to 60th place, from 50 years in 2020.

(MNNIT), Prasagraj, is in the 88th place among the top 100 institutions, increases the 93rd rank in 2020.
Two private universities – Amity University (Noida) and University of Shiv Nadar (Greater Noida) are ranked 43 and 84th.
Amity University registered a large leap from 63rd place last year.
Among the six government institutions, only KgMu funded by the government, while the rest is the Central Institute.
Not a single scholar / graduate graduate from finding a place in the college category.
However, Bhu and Amu managed to reach the top in several categories.
Rankings are made in 10 categories – Overall, universities, techniques, management, pharmaceutical, law, teeth, architecture, medical and college.
The ranking parameters include teaching, learning and resources, faculty-student ratios, permanent faculties, financial resources and utilization, research, patents, publications and the number of graduating and degree students.
Other factors such as outreach and inclusiveness – percentage of students from state / country and students who are economically challenged / socially – in addition to the perceptions of peers, also considered.
In the university category, the seven of the above institutions made it 100 large, with Bhu bagging third place.
In techniques, Iit-Kanpur and IIT-BHU each won 4 and 14 positions.
